In Gratitude for Thich Nhat Hanh

“Our actions are our only true possessions. They are the ground on which we stand.”

Thich Nhat Hanh spent his life serving all living beings. He worked tirelessly towards transforming suffering, healing wounds, building communities, and fostering peace throughout the world.

Today, we are fortunate to benefit and learn from Thich Nhat Hanh’s countless generous actions, including his prolific writings, deep Buddhist scholarship, comprehensive mindfulness teachings, establishment of a worldwide Plum Village monastic community and lay practice communities (Sanghas) to continue his teachings, and his courageous peace and justice work.

Thich Nhat Hanh’s community is his continuation.

In gratitude for and in honor of his life, there are many ways you can continue Thich Nhat Hanh’s legacy: practicing mindfulness, engaging in Sangha building, reconciling conflict in your relationships, and working for peace and justice in your own community.

If you feel moved to do so, you can also offer financial support in honor of Thich Nhat Hanh, through a gift today or a planned gift in your will.

• Your gifts today support the global monastic community and the practice centers founded by Thich Nhat Hanh, building an online monastery, and other initiatives that widely share his teachings.

• Your planned gift will help support the continuation of Thich Nhat Hanh’s legacy into the future.
